Spring Middle School Season
Spring League teams are comprised of players from 6-8th grade in the Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo areas. Teams are structured based on which junior high players attend first (geographical location), then by friend request or coach request. We do our best to accomodate all requests, but this is not always possible. Players and families do have the ability to register with any program they feel comfortable with. If you have questions about the season and team formation, please reach out to our fastpitch director.
Must register for season by March 15th, 2025
Season begins March 18th, 2025
and will run through May 18th or 19th with and end of season tournament put on by Fargo Area Fastpitch (
FAF
).
May 18-19 / Middle School Tournament
Players are placed on teams based on the junior high that they attend (geographically). If teams are full, we will place individuals on a waiting list and do our best to place kids together based on geography.
Practices
will be held 2 times per week minimum. We will begin with practices being held at the Metro Rec Center. They will be combined practices between the teams organized within our program. We will have use of one full field and usage of the batting cages. Once the weather warms up, practices will be ran by individual coaches at one of several area fields.
Players are highly encouraged to practice and develop their skills on days that there is no scheduled practice.
Players are responsible to have their own bat, glove, batting gloves (optional but recommended), helmet with attached face mask, black practice/game pants, belt, socks, and softball cleats. Metal cleats are not allowed for the junior high spring season. It is also stressed that families buy their gear at least a month ahead of time as area stores quickly run out of supplies. Especially pants and cleats. Players should also dress accordingly for the weather as well once we move practice outside. While inside, players can wear comfortable "gym" clothing and running shoes. Please bring a pair of dry shoes to wear and change into at the facility in order to keep turf clean. If unable to purchase necessary equipment, please contact our office directly and speak with Fastpitch Director as scholorships are available and there is some equipment that can be loaned out. No player should not be given the chance to play because of financial reasons.
Fargo Area Fastpitch
will supply the following for practice and games for the spring season: 2 bow nets, 2 tees, equipment bag, removable bases, 24 practice balls, game balls, catchers gear, first aid kits, jerseys, extra batting helmets, and score keeping/lineup tools.
Picture
s will also be taken for spring season. Date and times have yet to be determined
All
games
are
double headers
and begin at 5 and 6:30pm unless otherwise stated or communicated. Typically a 12-game season. Games have typically been on Monday evening but can occur any day of the week due to the weather and rescheduling. Games are 1hr 20 minutes in length. Innings will conclude after 3 outs or 6 runs scored.
Registration is broken up into 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. However, this is not how the teams will be comprised. It is just a way for us to keep track of ages in our registration process. Teams will be comprised of all grade levels.
Tentative Practice Schedule:
