Summer League

Summer rec league provides an opportunity for area girls to learn, develop and have a fun experience with softball.

Several different age divisions: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16/18U.
Players and/or coaches are allowed to submit an entire team for registration.
Registration deadline for summer rec program is March 31st, 2025.
Teams will be comprised of 12 players
Teams are required to have a minumum of 1 practice per week. Highly recommended that 2 practices are held.
Each team provides a game ball for league games.
Team pictures will be taken June 10th or 11th at The Attic. Times and dates determined by age group.
All coaches or parents who are on the field with players must register with USA softball and take the SafeSport training. SafeSport (registerusasoftball.com)

Games are held on specific days for each age division.
Teams are allowed to play with only 8 players on game day
Teams are asked to be at fields on game day a minimum of 45 minutes ahead of time to warmup and get ready for game
There is to be no arguing or poor sportsmanship by players, coaches, parents or spectators.
Phones are not allowed in the dugouts or out of a players bag.
Dugouts are for players and coaches only. Parents and family should cheer on their player and not "coach" their child from the stands or by the dugouts.
Coaches are encouraged to discuss the game rules with the other teams coach and umpire before the game begins.
Officials are the only ones that can make a call. No arguing of calls

League games, rules, and schedules are put together by the local fastpitch league. Fargo Area Fastpitch will be posting all rules and schedules for the league on our website.
In addition to what summer rec program provides above for games, Fargo Area Fastpitch is providing 8 additional games for the 8U and 10U age divisions. Games will be double headers for 4 weeks before the summer league season begins.
There will be two tournaments hosted by Fargo Area Fastpitch during the summer. These tournaments are for Rec League teams only. Competitive/Travel teams are not allowed to compete in these tournaments. One tournament will the Liam B. Medd and the other will be at the NIT End of Season tournament. Both tournaments are open to area 8U-18U teams.
Summer Rec teams do have the option to play in tournaments if they so wish. Teams/Coaches will be responsible for registering for desired tournaments and paying for registration themselves. Please read and review all information provided below before registering your son/daughter:

Registration:

Registration Open Date: November 15th, 2024.
Recreation Registration Deadline: March 31st, 2025
During the registration process, you will have the ability to request a certain coach or player(s) to participate with. This is not guaranteed but we do our best to accommodate these requests.
Registration will be on a first-come basis whether or not you have played in previous years. All players registered by the March 31st deadline are guaranteed placement on a team. Anyone registering AFTER March 31st will be placed on a waiting list. A $25 administrative fee will be assessed for late registrations.
A payment plan option is available when you check out. Half of your payment will be due upon registering and the other half will be automatically taken out on 3/31/2025.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER TEAMS ARE CREATED ON MARCH 31st.

Coaches/Team Managers:

Fargo Area Sports is a volunteer based organization. If you're interested in coaching or being a team manager with FAS, please select the co-coach or team manager option when getting to the team staff portion. Any help is greatly appreciated!
All coaches will have the opportunity to create their own teams by submitting a list of players to the office by March 31st. All other players will be placed on teams with consideration given to competition level, school affiliation, and neighborhoods.
